Sona Balasanyan
Her art, both a personal story and a universal humanexperience, has become an inseparable part of her being—through which she lovingly conveys to the viewer the depth of her emotions and the path she continues to explore.
She was born and received her secondary education in her hometown of Goris—a place that deeply shaped her inner world and emotional language. She pursued her higher education in Yerevan, broadening her worldview and deepening her vision. After starting a family, her life journey brought her to the remote Kamchatka region of the Russian Federation. However, regardless of the distance, she always maintained a strong connection with her homeland. Striving to pass on Armenian education and upbringing to her sons, she chose a unique way of life—a kind of symbiosis between Armenia and Russia, where two realities merge into one.
In 2005, by family decision, a company operating in the construction sector was founded, built on the principles of creation and development. Sona’s inclination toward creativity, present since childhood and shaped both by nature and inner impulses, gradually evolved into a conscious path. It was this very drive that led her into the world of business, where she revealed herself as a determined and creative entrepreneur.
After the Artsakh War of 2020, she made an important decision—not to leave her homeland. This period marked the beginning of her artistic journey. In the aftermath of these turning events, she began painting, finding in art a way to express herself, process what had happened, and achieve an inner renewal. For nearly six years now, painting has been an essential part of her life.
Today, the work of Sona Balasanyan is not only an artistic expression but also a profound reflection of her inner world, memory, and faith.
